Chandler Hosts Annual For Our City Day of Service on March 21

CHANDLER, Ariz. – The City of Chandler is gearing up for its annual For Our City Day, a community-wide day of service set for Saturday, March 21, 2026. This event unites hundreds of volunteers to revitalize a selected neighborhood through hands-on improvement projects.
This year's focus is the Tradition East neighborhood, located near Chandler Boulevard and McQueen Road. Volunteers will tackle various exterior enhancement tasks from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., including painting community walls, spreading gravel, yard work, and updates to the community greenbelt.
Following the morning projects, participants will join a commUNITY walk leading to a celebration and free lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pima Park, 625 N. McQueen Road.
Organized by the city's Neighborhood Programs Office, For Our City Day targets one non-HOA neighborhood each year, partnering with nonprofits, businesses, and residents. Volunteers can review available projects and register at the official For Our City Day website. Nonprofits and businesses interested in hosting booths during the post-event celebration should contact Neighborhood Programs staff.
Marking its third year collaborating with the Cesar Chavez Foundation, the event honors the legacy and spirit of service of Cesar Chavez. In recognition of what would have been his 99th birthday, the city has launched the "99 Acts of Kindness, One Community" campaign. Residents are encouraged to submit any act of kindness—big or small—for a chance to enter a raffle. Submissions are available on the For Our City Day site under the "99 Acts of Kindness" section.
The city is also honoring military veterans and first responders through the Parade of Heroes Recognition. Residents can nominate loved ones or friends who currently serve or have served in any branch of the military, or as current/former first responders. Honorees' photos will be displayed during the Celebration in the Park as a gesture of gratitude.
This year's event is supported by partners including Chandler Unified School District, Home Depot, Sherwin-Williams, VIAVI, WM of Arizona, Resurrection Street Ministry, Salvation Army, Red Canyon Supply, and PCL Construction. Sponsorship opportunities remain available.
