Article and Photos by Meng Ansley

The Chinese American Citizens Alliance (C.A.C.A.) Phoenix Lodge proudly honored Chinese American veterans and the American Legion Thomas Tang Post 50 during this year’s Veterans Day Parade in downtown Phoenix. Riding in a Ford Bronco were proud veterans: Frank Ong, a Vietnam veteran, and Vietnam veterans Johnny Wing and Raymond Yee. Serving as chauffeur for the ride was Eve Collins, vice president of the Phoenix Lodge.

The American Legion Thomas Tang Post 50 was originally founded in 1950 with 44 World War II veterans. Today, only eight members remain. In 1996, the post was renamed in memory of Judge Thomas Tang, a veteran and longtime member.

“We are deeply honored to celebrate these heroes, their courage and sacrifice remind us of the strength and resilience of our community,” said Eve Collins, vice president of C.A.C.A. Phoenix Lodge. “The Phoenix Lodge extends heartfelt gratitude to all veterans for their service and sacrifice.”
